Former communal flat Hotel Gutsa, near metro Rustaveli, is almost always vacant; however, it is a nice place for excursions, to see a Soviet type facility with high ceilings.

Top-end hotels
This segment includes 4-star hotels, famous tourist-class world hotel chains, including Courtyard Marriott Tbilisi, Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel, Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel, Tbilisi Marriott Hotel. Prices range from $180-$250 per person.

Food in Tbilisi hotels
"Good sleeps; good eats!" Generally this is how visitors describe Tbilisi hotels. Breakfasts are ample and delicious, lunches are top notch.
All the hotels, hostels, B&Bs and guesthouses included breakfast in the room price. Breakfasts are usually very heavy, really tasty and copious. Options are so varied; one would need to look hard for improvement. They include everything one can imagine, - brewed coffee, Nescafe/tea, pancakes, yoghurt, bread, cereal, khatchapuri, scrambled eggs, salads, ham, cheese, sausage, bananas, fruit, cheese pie, orange juice, and more. Georgian beer and wines were all complementary, and guests can forget about food for the rest of the day. In some hotels, such as in Holiday Inn Tbilisi they serve traditional European cold meats and other, and also waffles, omelettes and fresh fruit.

Foods in hotels are as usually more expensive than in other restaurants in Tbilisi. For example, rooftop Restaurant Kopala in Kopala Hotel providing guests a combination of quite decent (by Georgian standards) cuisine with a fantastic view charges very high prices. The magnificent scenery of the hills and Tbilisi Old Town from glass windows combined with impeccable service compensate the high charges. Another example is food in "In the Shadow of Metekhi", where best Georgian dishes are served within unique culturally attractive interior and beautiful city view. Hotel Parnas Cafe offers a window along the street view and an enjoyable meal with selection of local beers and wines and with very nice and informative decor.

Everywhere in the hotels the staff is friendly, efficient, speak English, and genuinely committed to making sure guests are well treated, well fed, well oriented and will want to return when next visiting Tbilisi. Small boutique hotels offer home-like atmosphere and excellent service. They will go out of their way to serve their guests. Guests can be checked in even if they arrive very early, they can be offered complementary coffee, tea and cookies, which can be a nice surprise for people, who do not expect such sweet "homey" welcoming touch. And this entire attitude kind and warm is just natural, genuine and professional.

Architecture of Tbilisi hotels
Tbilisi boutique hotels offer Old World elegance in New World amenities. Staying in Tbilisi hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses can sometimes be an aesthetic shock, because of the old fashioned Soviet style decor, until guests realize that these are much more authentic Georgian experiences, than if they stay in one of the international chains. For example in Hotel British House walls are decorated with paintings, wall carpets and interiors stuffed of exotic garnishes and blast of color, fantastically maintained and superbly managed. There are huge quantity of natural plants and flowers in the courtyard and corridors of the hotel, and besides making people feel comfortable, calm and homey, also conveys the charm of an antiquated old staging.

Tourists love those old style accommodations that have a lot more Georgian soul than in international chains, such as Radisson Blu Ivera Hotel and Tbilisi Marriott. Later is essentially a restored palace. These international hotels are newly refurbished, light, fresh, and spotless and have super chic room designs. There is not much charm or personal service in these hotels. Premises are excellently designed, service like any business class hotel anywhere. People who like to have consistent international experience anywhere they travel; these hotels can be good fit for them. These are more suitable for business visitors.

Tips in Tbilisi hotels
Tips in International Tbilisi hotels and not different from anywhere in the world. However, they are at the discretion of the visitor to give tip, and in many times, especially in the boutique hotels, hostels and guesthouses people will refuse to take anything for their service and guests have to force them to accept any tip.
